What is the difference between an IBAN and a RIB?
An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is the international standard used to identify a bank account for transfers. It starts with a two-letter country code and two check digits, followed by the domestic account number, for up to 34 characters. A RIB (relevé d’identité bancaire) is the document French banks issue to share account details. It shows the account holder, the bank and branch codes, the account number and the RIB key, along with the matching IBAN and BIC. In France, the IBAN embeds the RIB codes. Mindee extracts the account holder, IBAN, BIC, bank name and branch address from a RIB or any bank details letter, and you can add the domestic codes to your data schema.

What file formats are supported for JSON conversion?
The supported document formats are:

application/pdf) – While technically a document format rather than an image, it is natively supported for all extraction models. - JPEG / JPG (
image/jpeg) - PNG (
image/png) – Must be non-animated. - WebP (
image/webp) - TIFF / TIF (
image/tiff) – Both single-page and multi-page TIFFs are supported and processed similarly to PDFs. - HEIC (
image/heic) – Apple's High-Efficiency Image Container format.

To ensure the OCR pipeline runs smoothly and successfully returns your JSON, make sure your files adhere to the following constraints:
- Maximum file size: 100 MB per file.
- Maximum page count: Up to 200 pages per document.
- File state: The files cannot be encrypted, and PDFs must not be password-protected.
